About Branden Templeton
Racing Journey of Branden Templeton: From Late Start to Rising Star
Branden began his karting career at the age of 11, later than many of his peers, when he joined Ambition Motorsports in December 2018. Despite this late start, he quickly made an impact in the highly competitive Subaru class, securing several novice wins. After only a month, his rapid development saw him advance to the Mini X30 category, where he secured multiple podium finishes and claimed victory at the prestigious 50th Anniversary race at Kimbolton.
In August 2019, Branden made the strategic decision to join DHR, moving up to the fiercely competitive Junior X30 class. While the competition intensified, his consistent progress on the track was evident, with steady improvements throughout the season. 2020 was expected to be a pivotal year for honing his skills on new circuits; however, the global pandemic limited racing opportunities. Despite these setbacks, he managed to compete in the Valencia Winter Cup and a few European races before the season ended.
Momentum began to build again in 2021 when Branden joined MickBarretRacing in July, resulting in noticeable improvements in his performance. Although initially planning to continue in the Junior class for the 2022 season, a significant growth spurt prompted a swift transition to the Senior category in January 2022.
At 15 years old, Branden competed against seasoned drivers aged 16 to 25. His debut race in this class was particularly impressive, finishing 15th in a field of 33 competitors that included World, British, and club champions. Most memorably finishing 2nd place at the Autumn cup in his final karting race.
Alongside his karting achievements, Branden has begun transitioning into car racing. After a successful testing session in a Ginetta, where he posted impressive lap times, he passed his ARDS test in January, earning his Junior Race License and positioning himself for an exciting future in car racing.
In 2023, Branden tested in the GB4 single-seater series and found the experience exhilarating. He has since joined forces with Kokoro Performance Management and has competed in the 2024 GB4 series with Fox Motorsport. In his first year racing cars, he has already delivered impressive results, securing four podium finishes—including three third places and a first-place finish—while continuing to improve and, most importantly, enjoying the racing experience. Branden finished 4th in the championship in his rookie year.
As Branden embarks on this next phase of his motorsport journey, we are excited to see what the future holds as he continues to pursue his goal of competing at the highest level.
